For this number my starting point was that weird bass guitar sound. It's strange, a little outta key and lives in a vibe all it's own. The title of the song is a bit odd too. We're all familiar with the phrase, truth be told so when I start singing truth be sold in the first chorus I feel like it hits your ears in a jarring sort of way. But it all makes sense (to me at least) when you start to think about it.
The idea originates from me having recently watched a bunch of political debates (researching material for TRUMP!!!) bringing me to the thought of how often people are paid to say things. In short, being bought or selling out. This song is all about losing your integrity.
