So this is the last track I recorded on my old iMac (purchased in 2013). My good friends purchased a new mac mini for me, which is what I used for the rest of this album.
I started this song with the idea that I wanted to be Charlie Puth at the same time as attempting to create a song that comprised only midi tracks (except for the vocals). I "finished" this song is about 4 or 5 days except for mastering it. I then created the rest of the album on my newly gifted computer.
After completing the other tracks, I came back to this one and realized it wasn't working for me 100%. It still needed a few squeaks tweaked. Since it's more repetitive than what I normally write, I ended up adding a couple of screamy vocal harmonies and acoustic guitars which fixed what wasn't working for me.
Even though I didn't follow completely my idea of only having midi tracks, you need to admit to yourself when something doesn't work if it's hindering the integrity of the song.
